July 13: reception, missal orders, and introduction to use of a hand missal during Mass
After the nine o’clock Mass this Sunday, 13 July, there will be a reception in the parish hall with coffee, tea and donuts.
Orders will be taken in the hall, after Mass, for parallel Latin-English hand missals. These missals are leather-bound, contain the full order of Mass for Sundays and major feast days, including all proper prayers and readings. They also contain a beautiful devotional section with personal prayers to enrich your experience of the Mass. The missals are well made, sturdy volumes that will last a lifetime.
At eleven o’clock, Father Deprey will lead a short class on ‘How to use a hand missal’. Instruction will be given on how to find your way around a typical Latin-English missal, locating the ordinaries (regular texts repeated at every Mass) and the appropriate propers (specific prayers, readings, etc.) for the day.
