Gaudete Sunday raffle and silent auction

Gaudete Sunday is on December 15. With one week to go, the Vancouver Traditional Mass Society is still in need of donations of new or as-new items for our annual silent auction. All funds raised from the auction and the raffle will go to the support of Canadian seminarians at Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary. Lightly used items are requested as this is not a flea market. You can give your donated items to Margie Mackey (604 506-4626) or one of the Fathers. Several items will also be auctioned by live auction.

Tickets for the Gaudete Sunday raffle will be on sale until just before the draw. The raffle grand prize is a framed limited edition print called Golden Surf Seascape by Delta artist Fred Buchwitz. The other two prizes are a smaller framed print and a gift basket with a bottle of red wine, a bottle of white wine, a box of chocolates, a $150 gift card for Milestones or several other restaurants.

Ember Days

Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday next week (December 18, 20, and 21) are Ember Days. It is the custom to plan meals such that the two smaller meals do not add up to the main meal, with meat eaten only at one meal. This is not binding but is encouraged.
