Do the wonders of God’s creation stir your soul? Are you interested in sharing your faith with others? Do you understand how the concept of atheistic evolution impacts our society and the lives of the faithful? To shed light on these matters, you are invited to a presentation and follow-up discussion with Hugh Owen, founder of the Kolbe Centre for the Study of Creation, on Wednesday, November 16th at 7:00 pm in the hall.

The Kolbe Centre is a lay apostolate that seeks to educate the public, particularly within the Catholic Church, in the truth of creation as revealed in Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition and as confirmed by the findings of modern science.

On Sunday, 13 November, we commemorate the dedication of our church by Archbishop Duke on Nov 14, 1948. This, then, is the birthday of our Church (Kirchweih) which we will celebrate as an External Solemnity at the High Mass on that Sunday. (The anniversary of such dedication is a First Class Feast). Our Church has served the needs of Catholics for 63 years now. Deo Gratias!

You’re invited to a celebratory lunch after the 10:30 Sunday Mass (around 12:30 pm) on Sunday, 13 November.

Please let us know if you will be coming, as we need to know how much food to prepare. A main dish & bread will be supplied but we will need salads, desserts, and side dishes. If you contribute a small dish, the meal is free. If you can’t cook, a monetary donation will be accepted (no-one will be turned away). For more details or to tell us that you plan to attend, please contact the clergy.

Father John Berg, Superior General of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter, will visit Vancouver in May to update us on the work of FSSP apostolates throughout the world and on developments at the Vatican relating to the Fraternity and to the traditional Roman Rite. We will also have a question-and-answer session and refreshments. The conference will take place at Holy Family on Tuesday, May 10, beginning with recitation of the rosary before the Blessed Sacrament at 6:30 pm, followed by Benediction. Father Berg’s talk will commence after Benediction, in the parish hall.

We are most grateful that Father Berg was able to shorten his visitation to the Archdiocese of Seattle to make this possible.
